Vintage 1950's Harper Enamelled Mincer, Re-purposed as a Table Lamp British Made
This incredible desk / table lamp is not only a fully functional lamp but also a stunning unique piece of unique art. The inspiration for this fantastic lamp was a fantastic 1950's Harper Mincer.
This was made in the UK. The Harper manufacturing company was well known in the UK for their high quality products.Firstly we gave the mincer a good clean and sterilisation. We then lightly polished the surface while maintaining the great patina it has.
This mincer has a fantastic speckled green enamelled finish which looks as good today as the day iot left the factory. To mount the bulb we fabricated a bespoke steel mount. This lamp has an antique style black light fitting that has been powder coated in satin black This was professionally wired with period correct braided 3 core vintage cable. The cable is a generous 1.2 metres long. There is a inline switch and plug fitted.All of the metal parts on the lamp are correctly earthed and the lamp has been PAT tested. This lamp is finished with a stunning squirrel cage Edison filament decorative light bulb. This gives a beautiful warm light with the filament clearly visible when in use.
It nicely illuminates the mincer when it's turned on. The lamp has a handle made of oak, which looks like it was originally painted green, but its now worn down to almost bare wood. We gave this a good waxing and polishing with a quality oak wax. When lit the light looks stunning.
