Chris Bracey Gods Own Junkyard Letter H Colourful light bulb neon sign. Bought from Chris Bracey's God's Own Junkyard Lights of Soho exhibition in December 2014, made by Chris Bracey. In excellent condition as it was bought, have briefly had it on display in our home for a month or so but has spent more time stored safely in a box in our loft all these years, and due to this reason we have decided to sell it so someone else can enjoy it. Still have original paperwork and receipt/ tags from when it was bought.

The letter is made from sturdy heavy rusty metal and has 2 hangers on the back to display it on a wall, it can also stand and be displayed as it is. The lights are colourful fairground style led bulbs. Measurements: height 380mm, width 180mm, depth 100mm. Collection is preferred however can be posted fully insured and carefully packaged. British artist Chris Bracey, aka the light writer, likened neon to a creature of the night, not least in Soho where Bracey was the first to coin and create the iconic "Girls, Girls, Girls" sign.

This 70's sex appeal spread. Strip-joint owners gave Bracey carte blanche to use his artistic licence to reinvent Soho. Several decades on, from council enemy number one to the godfather of neon, Bracey's visually stunning light installations have become a staple of the urban art world. Inspired by his father's work on fairgrounds, as well as by memories of a post-war monochrome London landscape illuminated only at Christmas, Bracey's neons are the product of an artist enchanted with the possibilities of light expression. His fantasmagorical engineering captures the childhood magic inspired by colour and light.

Yet his art installations are far from child's play. In Bracey's own words "they're visual cocaine", and it seems that everyone who is anyone is addicted.

Bracey's neon signs have been commissioned by some of the biggest Hollywood directors including Stanley Kubrick and Tim Burton, dressing the film sets of Eyes Wide Shut, Batman, and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. His neons can also be found in private art collections all over the world. Bracey's work has been exhibited at the Tate Modern, the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Saatchi Gallery London, with pieces shown alongside contemporary artists including Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Banksy and Roy Lichtenstein.

Bracey also helped light up both the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Park, and boasted collaborations with royal portrait artist Christian Furr, designer Alexander McQueen, Turner prize-winning artist Martin Creed and photographer David LaChapelle. Sadly, Bracey passed away in 2014, but the magic of neon lives on through his art, and through the legacy left to his sons who continue to make their own pieces. Needless to say, there is an appreciating demand for original Bracey signs.
